A speed display shows the approaching vehicle’s speed to its driver, directing the driver’s attention once more to the current speed limit, thus contributing to better traffic safety.
Speed displays are installed where the road owner wishes to employ stronger means of reminding about the speed limit, for example near schools and kindergartens, on highway entries to a city with a sharply decreased speed limit, or other places where systematic violations of the speed limit are observed.
- The following can be added to a speed display:
- a storage device to store events, enabling statistics to be collected about speeds on that road section;
- a communication device enabling data to be downloaded from the speed display without a wire connection to it.
